Contacts

The Contacts section is where users can manage information about their text message recipients.

Accessing the Contacts Section

From the login page select the Contacts option from the menu pane on the left:

From the Contacts Section of Emissary users can:

  1. Search contacts

  2. Add new contact

  3. Edit or view conversations for existing contacts

  4. Download contacts

Note: Users cannot delete contacts. See the end of this article for more information.

1. Search Contacts

Use the search feature to filter results on name, number or tag:

Contacts can also be filtered by selecting a tag listed on conversation:

2. Add a New Contact

The Add Contact pane contains the following values:

When entering a Phone Number, note that Emissary will flag invalid numbers.

New tags can be created directly in the Add Tags field. Existing tag options will show up as matching characters are entered:

Tags can also be created directly at the top of an existing conversation.

3. Edit or Text an Existing Contact

From a contact row, a user can edit contact field values or navigate to conversations in the Inbox. See the 1-to-1 Texting article for more information about 1-to-1 Texting features.

4. Download Contacts

Select the "Download Contacts" button as seen below to export your list of contacts as a ".csv" file on your computer.

Comma delimited files contain the following fields: Full Name, First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email, Opt-out, Tags.

Deleting Contacts

While users cannot permanently delete contacts, we recommend utilizing the Archiving feature to remove conversations from your inbox. Additionally, a user could utilize the Tagging feature to further sort conversations.
