Campaigns are an efficient way to send mass text messages to a list of people from a .csv file or existing contacts saved to your account.
Note: A .csv (comma-separated values) file is a text file that has a specific format which allows data to be saved in a table structured format or file type like Excel.
Emissary recommends limiting .csv files to no more than 250 recipients. If you are working with a large file, we recommend breaking it down into separate files of 250 or fewer recipients and uploading them separately.
Creating a Campaign:
1) Log into www.emissary.ai. On your Emissary dashboard, select the Campaigns button.
2) Select Create Campaign.
3) Complete the Campaign Details fields.
Only the campaign name is required, but users can input additional information that can be plugged in as variables in the campaign message. The campaign name is only visible to you, and recipients will automatically be tagged with this title. Therefore, we suggest giving it a title that reflects the content of your message to keep your inbox organized and so you can easily visualize your outreach within 1-to-1 conversations.
Once this page is complete, select Next step.
4) Add Recipients.
This is done either by uploading a .csv file, or by manually selecting contacts from your existing list. You can drag and drop the .csv file or select the paperclip icon to locate the file.
If you are uploading recipients via a .csv file, there are a couple of important things to note.
First, you will need to indicate whether the first row contains data or headers. Then, select the items you would like to import by confirming that the Variable column values correctly match with the Headers column values, or by selecting "Do not import". Finally, select Check contacts.
The next page will display all valid and any invalid contacts from your .csv file. Review the contacts, select "Add recipients", and lastly, "Next step".
Note: Refer to our article on .csv files for further explanation on uploading and variables.
5) Enter your message content.
You can:
Insert variables that correspond to any data that you chose to import in the previous steps.
Create templates for future campaigns.
Cycle through message previews for each recipient.
When you are satisfied with the message, select "Next step".
6) Choose the start date and time, and select "Schedule".
